TECO Energy was recently recognized by the Women’s Forum of New York (Women’s Forum) as a 2015 Corporate Champion for having a board of directors comprised of more than 20 percent women. The company joined 392 other Fortune 1000 and S&P 500 corporations honored at the 2015 Breakfast of Corporate Champions & Symposium on Nov. 19 in New York City.
“The Women’s Forum of New York salutes companies that know women on boards is good business and demonstrate that belief with women holding 20 percent or more of their corporate board seats,” noted the certificate presented to TECO Energy by the Women’s Forum.
Follit has served on the board since 2012 and also heads Follit Associates, a consulting practice specializing in corporate technology assessment and executive career strategy. She was the former senior vice president of RadioShack Corp. and a former vice president of Global Operations Engineering for A.C. Nielsen. She also serves as a director for Bealls Inc. and has served as a director for Winn-Dixie Stores Inc.
Penn has served on the board since 2005 and is the former president of Spherion Staffing Services in McLean, Va. and was a former officer for other staffing providers, including Temporaries Inc., and a manager at IBM Corp.
Sara L. Baldwin, former vice president of Tampa insurance company Baldwin and Sons, Inc., served as a member of the TECO Energy Board of Directors for 27 years beginning in 1979 until 2007.
